Mapping out a run space

I've asked about planning my chicken coop in another forum and some folks raised concern with the veggies being contaminated with e. coli and salmonella from the garden being so close to the coop. I have no experience with this, but wanted to pass along this info.

Thank you. I’ll take my chances with my home produce & birds! Too many store bought recalls…we wash everything carefully!

Sounds well thought out. Will you be putting a fence around your garden? Between the chickens and dogs I barely got any apples and pears last summer so this year I'll be fencing around the fruit trees.

Thanks! I will be adding a large fence this year to keep the dogs out (& the chickens in when I need them to do garden cleanup and pre-planting pest control.) I’ll post a pic of it once we get everything set up!
