Maran personality?

What are Maran's temperaments? Are they docile? Do they like to be held? Are they skittish and flighty? Would they make good pets?

I love my Marans, they are sweet and the boys are well behaved. They do like d'Uccles though. I have a pair to show for it. If you want a pair of Marans/d'Uccle mix let me know, I have a pair I want to sell.

My blue splash marans hen is my favorite of my mixed flock (which include 3 kinds of marans). She is friendly and talkative, but not too loud. They also laid well through the winter. However, I must admit theat they are not lap chickens.
