Wow! got my black marans hatching eggs in today . The the black is definitely a big difference in color against the blue splash marans . Pictured on top black marans eggs on bottom row . More chocolate looking hard to believe that a chicken egg can get darker than this Wow! Newbee lessons lol!

What gorgeous eggs! I have a Black Copper Marans chick coming at the end of June. Long wait until then and then another long wait until she's ready to lay. But eggs like those would be MUCH worth waiting for!
Buy a incubator hatch u out some . Don't know how much you paid for your lil chick a basic incubator would only run you about 45 to 50 bucks . I say it's worth it but watch out you'll get hooked lol!

Oh boy, welcome to the Marans chocolate egg obsession society!! Lovely eggs, hopefully you will get some beautiful chicks from them. Please post. I have 24 BCM eggs resting and awaiting time in the bator (also from ebay but on the West coast as I cannot risk a longer distance shipping than 1 state away. Disastrous hatch a while ago with very expensive shipped eggs, so I made it a rule never to buy further than 1 state away). I am adding a few of my own BCM eggs as one of my beautiful hens lays a very dark egg. Probably a 7/8 on the BCM scale so I am hopeful for another like her. Oh and yes she is covered by a big beautiful BCM rooster. Good luck with the hatch. :fl
