I'd like to find out if anyone here is breeding mainly with an eye to egg color. I have several FBCMarans (one rooster and eight hens) from Wade lines. The egg color is fairly dark (5-7 range on the charts) but I want that dark chocolate 9. Since I'm not interested in showing them I'm perfectly okay with finding pet quality marans IF it meant I could get those truly dark eggs. Is there a group, breeders, egg show site where I could find the really dark egg layers?
