Marans colors

You'll end up with 100% Blue Coppers, I believe. Although F1 crossings may not work, but crossing them back to the Black Coppers may get you blue coppers.

If they are Splash Copper crossed with Black Coppers you will get 100 % Blue Coppers. If the Splash that you are using are not splash coppers and they were crossed with a Black Copper you would still get 100% blue chicks but they wouldn't be blue or blue copper though they would pure Marans just of a mixed color variety and not a standard purposed color variety. I suspect that you would get a mix of blue with coppering, just maybe not exactly like a blue copper, although very possilby I would think that you would get a few of those chicks that could look very similar upon maturing with some noticeable differences but similar. Hope this helps. They would make good layers of nice eggs for the eating cartons.

The breeder told me they were from 2 blue marans. I believe when you cross a blue with a blue you can get blue or splash. I think! lol It just so happened all my eggs marked blue, hatched splash females. All my BCM and FBCM happen to be males. So.....instead of waiting for my 6 weeks old female FBCM to mature I was going to let this crew breed.

Blue cross Blue results in 50% blue and 25% black and 25% splash.
Splash cross Black results in 100% blue
Blue cross Black results in 50% black and 50% blue.
Blue cross Splash results in 50% blue and 50% splash
Splash cross Splash results in 100% Splash
Black cross Black results in 100% Black

Hope this hopes and have fun with your birds!
