Marans hatch photo "essay"

Just some pics I took of one of my Marans chicks hatching over the weekend.

The above pictures were taken outdoors while the sun was out. This last one was taken much later, when it was very overcast. That's why the egg looks darker in this last one.

Nah...it's really warm here, plus the whole series took just over a minute. I took the egg out when it was totally zipped, and I could tell the chick was about to pop the top. It scrambled right on out!
