Marek's vaccination

Hey guys

I don't have a large backyard flock, but after hearing how common marek's disease manifests in even small flocks and how terrible of a disease it is, I'm quite scared.
I only have one chicken (I know, I know. But she is imprinted on humans, despises other birds, and is living a king's life as a beloved family pet) who's already about 8 weeks old; far too old for the vaccine, according to many. I didn't have the opportunity to vaccinate her at hatching, but I hear that since the vaccine uses a similar strain that will not cause disease, the vaccine could only benefit her even if I give it now.
I couldn't live with myself if I leave Rosie vulnerable to a preventable disease, but I'm hesitant to just dive into this.

What do you guys think? Vaccination or no? If yes, what is the best way to get it? I know it can be purchased online in bulk, but it seems silly to buy 1000 doses for a single chicken. I live in a suburban area, so there are only a few avian vets and almost no chicken farmers near me.

Marek's is bad, I had a chicken with paralysis and I'm still not sure if its marek's or not. However, the rest of the flock is still healthy.
If you don't interact with other chickens or if, after you do, you take a shower and change your cloths, then marek's should not spread to your little girl.
I'm not sure what the best way is to get your chicken vaccinated, sorry. Weigh the pros and cons and choose whether vaccinating or not is safest.

I hope she stays happy and healthy for years to come. Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply and I appreciate your blessings :) I hope your flock prospers as well!

I don't come into contact with other birds at all. My fears stem from reading about how Marek's can be transmitted by air from microscopic geese/duck feathers and that the virus is likely present in the soil where Rosie plays in.

Glad to know someone understands my concerns! My folks are completely unable to justify why anyone would vaccinate a chicken. They think I've gone off the deep end
