We live in a break it/ get a new one society. What have you held on to for a really long time? I started thinking, and I still have my kids first Christmas ornaments (31 and 34 years), and my grandmother's cast iron Dutch oven and skillet (80-or so years old, with me for 37)

Congratulations on 37 years. For the Princess and me it has been 56 years, and I'll guarantee you that I am the only thing she has held on to for any period of time. I on the other hand have and am wearing the same belt I had in high school .
congrats to you and the princess on 56 years and to you for still being able to wear that belt! my husband still has his high school FFA jacket but there's no way it still fits lol

Congrats!!! 💖

The only things I have from 37 or more years ago are a birthstone locket I had as a child, some old photographs and my Nana's china. To be fair, I only got the china 6 years ago after my mom died but I have memories of it dating back to my childhood because we always used it for holidays. I do have some clothes that are 20 years old 😬 but I'm not sure I'd fit into anything I wore 37 years ago because I was only 9 then.

Jewelry that was my mother's (35 years), husband (31), stuffed dog my grandmother gave me (54), my body (58). I plan to keep all of them forever, or until my body gives out.

Someone asked my if my husband died, did I think I'd remarry? I said, no, it took me 31 years to get him to put his dirty socks in the proper spot on the floor. I'm not gonna start over with anyone new.
