Martha Stewart's Chickens

I watched one her shows a few years ago (way before I had chickens in my head), and I thought she said she fed her flock lemons everyday. I don't know if she meant just the rind or the entire lemon. I was half listening so who knows if I even heard her correctly. So, are lemons ok to feed chickens?

Mine won't eat any type of citrus. When I put peels or leftover pieces of citrus in the bowl of scraps for the chickens - they always leave it alone.
