MASS EGG EATING

Ik you said that you don't want to switch feeds, but switching to a higher protein feed (18-20%) can be helpful and I would cut out all treats, especially the scratch as that's only reducing the overall amount of protein they're getting

Between that, the curtains and perhaps the rollaway nest boxes that should hopefully get them to stop
Will do! 1/2 cup - cup might have been a slight exaggeration but figured it was a nice semi boredom buster picking around the ground but will cut that out! Curtains are up, they will get some higher protein feed, and yes i agree the roll away would certainly stop it not being able to get to them!

Sounds great! Let us know how it goes!

Easiest solution is use nest boxes that allow the eggs to roll into a closed chamber. The eggs will be clean and won't get broken or ate
I agree. But I had a goofy hen that looked up from underneath and pecked at the eggs through the wire mesh--not to eat them, but just because. Lol.

I have multiple hens eating eggs every day now. What started as a cracked egg here and there or an empty shell once in a while has turned into a full blown attack on eggs. Like 3-6 eggs a day empty. I changed food in January and we started to see a few empty shells so probably beginning of February I changed back to the same food, oyster shell and grit they have always had for the year prior and they haven’t stopped eating eggs. Am i going to have to send a ton of hens to freezer camp?!?! What can i do? Do curtains work so they cant see them after they are laid?? HELP PLEASE. Thank you for any input!!
Curious what kind of feeder you're using for your chickens?

Yeah thats why i was confused because the Purina Layena and the Producers Pride had almost exact same nutritional values but going to the Producers, they must not have been a fan!
Kalmbach feeds are good - i feed the non-GMO version of it and it increased my egg production! I order it from Chewy.com as it is so handy to have it delivered for free.
