Hello I'm pretty sure I'm just getting excited but I have a young royal palm male and red burbon female. And they are about that age to start mating. I've seen them do it. Google says turkeys will start laying about 10days after mating and it also says turkeys don't lay until march-april in my area. My question is since I've seen them mating and I'm finding her soft nest burrows in the ground now... Any chance she could lay early? Anyone else in middle tennessee maybe could shine some light on it? I know more than likely she's not going to yet but I also know depending on where you live could affect mating season times? Right? Thanks.

If you are providing supplemental light, your hen will lay early.

My toms start breeding in February and the hens start laying in mid March.

Breediing a Royal Palm tom to a Bourbon Red hen will produce Golden Narragansett hens and Red Bronze toms.
