So this has probably already been ask but forgive me new to the hobby. All the threads I have read talk about what Color’s to breed to get mauve, but what if you already have it? Does mauve breed back to mauve produce mauve? And if not what does it produce ?
Not sure how I ended with Orpington’s but have a Jubilee Rooster and 3 jubilee hens, a Lavender Rooster and 4 Lavender hens, 4 chocolate hens, and a Mauve Rooster and 3 mauve hens. And a Blue Rooster and 2 black hens so should be able to come up with some pretty cool combinations.

Mauve is chocolate and blue so mauve X mauve will always produce the chocolate part but the blue part will be like breeding blue to blue. It doesn't breed true but produces 25% black, 50% blue and 25% splash.
So mauve to mauve = 25% chocolate, 50% mauve and 25% splash mauve.
