Mine give me a disgusted look when I toss the husks and silks onto the compost pile...its the cobs they want. They comb them for for any tidbits, then leave them for the dogs to play with and bury later.

Asking if it is okay to feed chickens any part of a corn plant. Got to be joking. I won't say all feeds but a dang good bunch of'em use corn as a base.

I pull back the husks of an ear of fresh corn and hang the corn above their heads so they have to work for it. They are very determined, and LOVE their fresh corn treat.

Mine eat corn in any form.....on the cob, raw, cooked, baked,ground, cracked etc. They will not touch the husk or silk though

scratch does not raise body temp of chickens. That is a MYTH... that has been perpetuated repeatadely on this board.

Scratch should be a treat, not the main diet.
