Hello,
I had a hen disappear week half ago. Accepted the idea that something got her and moved on. Come Monday I came over to let my girls out of their barn so they can be outside and bam there she was. Clucking away at me like she had something to say. She ran into the barn and was eating like she never ate before. So I thought ok maybe she was caught somewhere ok fine. Well I got back from work and bam she is now gone. So I guess my question is how do I find her?! Is this a sign she has layed eggs somewhere? Or am I going to have to wait for her to come back?! I really want to know where she is IF she has eggs so I can at least provide her a safe place.

Best thing to do is when you next see her, watch her while she is out and about eating and drinking and watch her as she walks back to where the nest is. They usually on stay out for about 20minutes. You could either leave her there or at night take her and put here somewhere safe with the eggs. Might upset her but thats the risk...

Yes she has a nest of eggs!!! Your gonna be a Grammy!! Yep keep an eye on her next time she comes back out. She should come out atleast every other day for the next week . Mine usually get off the nest about the same time every day. If you decide to move her. Keep her covered in a towel the first few hours so that she setts back down on the eggs. Then you can remove it the next morning. I have never had a hen abandon her eggs after a move doing this.

Thank you. I found her today. And will be moving her
Bc she's 4ft from a busy street. Wish me luck. I'm so excited!!
