Maybe a cockerel pretending to be a bantam?

I picked up a few chicks to help out with the apocolypse and my grasshoppers. This is one of four that in the other thread, they thought may be a cockerel. Can't have roosters in the neighborhood, so would need to return it. D&L has been awesome and they said they would exchange it if needed, but I want to do it as soon as possible so the chickens don't have to deal with more change than they already have.

Hope I don't have to. (S)he is my favorite. At the feed store, they said this pen was 6-10 weeks old if that helps. I really appreciate any input.

Sorry if I'm over posting. In the other thread, they said I should ask for other opinions.

Thanks Mountain Peeps for the response. Maybe I will have to wait. Just not sure how that will impact he/she or the rest of the birds.

When would I know for sure?

It's not a sebright as they have a very different plumage. I think it's an Ancona.

This is a sebright

Someone else said Mottled Java cockerel. I hope you guys are right. The store said 6-10 weeks old. When can I know for sure?

When it starts laying eggs or begins to crow. Some roos start to crow as early as 7-8 weeks, while some take months.
I think it's positively a bantam, and I'm pretty sure it's a hen. Though, it's lower back makes me uncertain.

This is a hen, and she has a very large comb
(She doesn't have a name! ahh! )

Did I say Mottled Java? I totally meant Ancona.

That is why I was stumped about gender. Ancona's have massive combs!

Here is a hen for example (not mine, found on google)

She has a really big comb, but is full grown and laying.

Here is a Ancona pullet about the same age as yours.. the comb is much smaller...
