But, I am so excited. My DH loves to hunt and fish, and usually we go together, but this morning, after calling a turkey for 2 hours he called it quits. So I took his call and stopped off on another piece of property on my way to work, and called in big tom all by myself. I am so happy and proud but have no one to share with

I only have one close girlfriend and she doesn't hunt but I love everyone here so much I just had to post about how elated I am! So thanks for being there so I have someone other than my DH to tell!

That is awsome. I was out 4 times this year and never got anything to come closer than 100 yards. Maybe I could borrow you next year. LOL

I don't hunt but the guy I'm dating does. I don't know what its like to get what your after since I don't hunt but Congratulations!!! I like to fish. He said he would take me fishing so I will be so elated and happy if I catch anything. (Even if its tiny) Enjoy the turkey!!

Congrats, enjoy your turkey!!!

Me and my dad deer hunt, but we have never got a turkey. We just came back from a fishing trip, were we cought 103 fish.

so, what kind of call was it? slate, diaphragm, box, etc? how close did you get him? spur length, beard length? jake or adult? c'mon, now you've got my fever up! don't have a place here to hunt yet. congrats, lots of people have no idea what it takes to call an old gobbler within shooting range. "what do you have if there are 50 turkeys in the woods? 100 of the best eyes in the world!" nice work, rich

Congrats!!! I love to hunt. I have never hunted turkey(dh does) but I do deer hunt. I got an eight point a few years ago. So far, it's bigger than any my dh has ever shot!!!! Good job!!!

Congrats!!!!! I love to hunt as well and my DH has taught me a lot. But I must say I prefer turkey hunting over deer...it's got to be the challenge of calling him in. I haven't been able to go in the last 7 years due to young children and not liking to go out by myself. However, my DH called one in on opening day in MA! 21 pounds, 10 1/2" beard, 7/8" spurs! NOT BAD!

Congrats! There are four men in my family who hunt and they didn't get a turkey this yr! Pat yourself on the back and post some pictures..Don't be shy! Let's see it...Dixie

Congrats! I don't have to call turkeys in, they walk across my front yard. I don't know how many times I have had to stop the car and wait for them to cross the road. Most any day we can see wild turkey out in the fields. But I guess "the calling them in" is the sport. I live in Michigan and the DNR released them a few years back. They sure are prolific!
