I really need some advice

I'm new at this. I have 18 week old leg horns. For the last 3 weeks one has been panting and laying in one spot. I thought she was broody. She's not. They have never layed, but I put her in a broody box anyway. She eats and drinks, but usually when I put in in front of her. I haven't seen her poop that I know of, I mean I know she is, I just don't see it. Today I noticed she went to the food. I picked her up and took her to a table and checked her out. Her left knee is swollen 3-4 x the other size. I just started giving laying crumbles this week. So I don't know if protein could have built up before then.

My big leghorn was kinda protecting her from me when I put her back down and acted like she would attack me if she kept squaking so I didn't really feel if it was hard or pus filled. Then the big one attacked her. So I shooed her away. She is kinda by herself now. She does not put weight on her foot. Ever. She wobbles like she's drunk.

I got chickens for the eggs. I don't want them to be sick but i also don't want to loose one. But her panting seems to tell me she hurts. (It's warm but the others don't pant). I don't want a vet bill for my chickens. I'm sorry if it seems cruel or whatever, but these were going to be easy pets with gifts to give. I also don't want her to suffer, because that to me is cruel.

I guess I would just like some one to give me some direction. I would rather put her down than have her hurting. But if its an easy fix I would be more than happy to do it.

Can any of my symptoms be something else? I am open for suggestions. (I already put apple cider vinegar in the water. And I started giving vitamins this week with her ailments and all)
