Hi all,
I think I remember that someone tried to get info about the contents of McGreary's Virtuous Total Duck feed. I was wondering if they were successful, as I have also tried and they have not gotten back or answered while on the phone. They seem very concerned about the propriety of the product. (Believe me, as a first time owner of just 2 ducks, I have no intention of starting a duck feed line!) I just really want to know protein and niacin content, though it would be good to know about which grains are in it.
Anyone have a bag around and can share that? It would be good to get a product on the east coast, as are we.
Thanks!

Did you ever we find out? I'm not sure I would feed something that the manufacturer was unwilling to disclose the nutritional information, or contents.

No. I do have food shipped but that is because TSC and Agway do not carry non GMO of anything that looks good to me and even though it is shipped, it is a lot less than McGreary's. And now that I have 2 hens (instead of just two drakes) I may only want organic.

That is very strange to offer a feed with no details on protein, niacin, fat levels. I searched the website and the only thing I could find was under questions there is a sentence about "is there niacin in the food" they answer that they don't add niacin but there is niacin in the grains they use. I would be kind of leery about this food. Yes of course they could make a mix that has enough in it but by not testing and stating that it is this or that amount it's sketchy to me.

I agree and never buy anything that the producer does not want to share info on.
Hi! I know this is an older thread, but saw it and wanted to share my experience with McGreary. I ordered a bag as I wanted to feed my ducklings organic starter. This brand was recommended to me by someone I trusted, so I ordered a 10lb bag. When I got the bag, it had pantry fly moth larvae in it. 3-4 bugs total, not a large infestation. I emailed the company, and got an almost immediate response. I was impressed with the response time because it was a weekend. They said because they are organic and don’t spray for pests, that this could possibly occur from time to time. They assured me that the food was safe for my ducklings as long as there were not a lot of bugs. Then they emailed me again a little bit later to give me a heads up that the mill they sourced from was no longer going to have organic options and that they had not found a new mill. Their organic feeds would be discontinued soon. This made me think that the bag I received was not freshly made and that they are selling off old stock and aren’t producing any new feed.

I fed my girls the mcgreary for the next day until new scratch and peck organic arrived.

For me it was a shipping issue as well, as the shipping was almost as much as the feed itself. I realized I just could not afford it. I'm in NH and feed mine an organic brand that is produced in VT. If you can find someone closer, you may be more apt to get it fresh.
Good luck.
