I just want to know about them

Why do they label them as both? Are they pure?

I don't need show quality i just wondered if they had tufts and rump less.

Are their eggs very blue?

Thanks

They only sell Ameracaunas and if they have them labeled as Araucanas..that's their error.

They have Ameraucanas and EE (Easter Eggers).

Good luck with those! Surely none of these birds will be rumpless or tufted. They may have beards/muffs...but that's about it.

All the major hatcheries list them as Ameraucanas or Ameraucana/Araucana but they are all just EEs that they sell not Ameraucanas by the standard. But they(EEs) always end up very beautiful birds and as far as I know they lay from an olive to a blue/green egg and I've seen some huge eggs out of EEs. If you want true Ameraucana or Auraucana you'll have to search for a breeder...And make sure they are selling birds that are to standard to make sure you aren't getting EEs when you were wanting the real deal...Some folks are misled by the titling from these hatcheries and think they are selling pure Ameraucana or Araucana...And then they turn around and try to sell them as such not knowing.

Hope this helps some, Cindy

I would like to add 3 or so hens that lay colored eggs to my flock in the spring. I do not have to have "pure breds", especially since I am not going to be breeding them, just enjoying their eggs and their company. What would be my best course of action? MyPetChicken or somewhere else? Thanks.

They are labeled as both as they trying to sell chicks to people who don't know the difference. They are not pure, they are easter eggers.

You never know what traits you will find in a hatchery easter egger.

Most people I have heard from get green or light brown eggs from their hatchery birds.
