I have three older hens. One polish was bullied but has made her way and is good in the pecking order. I got 4 chicks in March. Let them into the run with the older hens after a few weeks of separating them in the run in a tractor. The polish is now the bully. She goes after them any chance she gets. They’ll be bigger than she is but they’re sacred. I have them in a locked kennel in the run bc they won’t go into the coop. Tonight my polish was in the coop and literally trying to fight nothing as the little hens weren’t even IN the coop. What do I do? I’m afraid to put the younger ones in there at this point. They’re so scared. It’s a new situation and I realize the pecking order and it may take weeks but any advice is greatly appreciated.

It takes two weeks to settle the pecking order.

As far as the Polish herself, it's rather common for a bully to become a bully. You may need to rehome her if things don't improve.

You can first try putting the Polish in a crate in with the youngers (youngers on the outside of course.) Then after a week or two, see how they do together.

The avian flu is rampant here in SW Idaho so I can’t rehome at this point but I realize it may have to be. She was so docile and skiddish as they just are but she’s BIG MAD right now and the younger hens are so stressed. I hate seeing it.

Try jail if it doesn't work out. Basically you leave her alone in a crate for 30 days. And if all else fails, Pinless Peepers.
