Meat selling laws

I am planning to raise some broilers in portable runs and to have them butchered by a professional. Does anyone know what the laws are for selling the meat in Ohio? Is there anywere I can find these laws on the internet?

I don't know of any, but I have never asked either. My DD sold some of her extra meat birds but only to neighbors, family and friends. No businesses will take them from you. If you are going to sell on a small scale, I wouldn't worry about it.

Wisconsin, you can sell 1,000 birds per year, from your "farm gate"

Best thing is to contact your State Ag department. They are generally friendly folks, and can answer those kind of questions - the law can vary state by state (some states follow the USDA federal exemptions, some have their own laws).
