Meat thermometer for inc?

Can I use a meat thermometer for myhome made incubator? Im using a ten gallon fish aqaurium with a heat lamp and didnt think it would work at all but it is. Ive got viens and even movement when i candle. It doesnt seem like its very warm though. (Yes i turn them)

Controlling the temp? I dont know- i have half the top covered and a heat lamp at the open end. Im shocked my eggs are growing so far.

Most in incubators have a thermostat that keeps the temperature steady by turning the lamp on and off.

Keep your house temperature steady throughout the entire day and night, that way when you set the temperature correctly in the range that you want..... temperatures won't fluctuate badly, especially with glass as they conduct temperatures like no other.
