Some of you may already know that I have started a goat rescue. Many suggested that I should purchase my own medical supplies and administer vaccinations etc myself

Does anyone have any suggestions on which medical supplies to get? Which brand is better etc? I posted the same thing on Backyard Herds hope I don't annoy anyone by doing that

Thanks again!

Few things off the top of my head that I have here ... I do a lot of caprine rescue ... sure there is more ... completely random order just as I think of them ...

Electrolytes - both oral and injectable
Brandy
Nutrimol/Nutridrench
Vaccines, De-worm, De-lice etc
Antiseptic - get a general purpose like betadine, that you can use for general cuts and wounds as well as teat and navel dip
Flystrike powder
Eye powder/ointment
Broad spectrum antibiotic (injectable)
Probiotics
disposable needles and syringes in various sizes - for syringes you will use most of the 2/3ml and 10/12ml, but get some of all sizes, from 1ml right up to 50/60ml; for needles you mainly want to use 20 to 22 gauge needles, about 1/2 inch to 1 inch. 20s for adults, 22s for babies. Have a couple of 18 g on hand as well for very thick medication
stethoscope
thermometer
nitrile gloves
lube
needles for stitching skin
dental floss or cotton thread for external stitches
catgut for internal stitches
lidocaine and xylazine if you can get them
injectable milk fever remedy
injectable glucose
oral glycerine
vet wrap
poly pipe for splints
cotton wool wrap for padding
puppy training pads
small peg together puppy/rabbit/dog pens, to isolate sick/injured/new/quarrantine babies
assortment of cat carry cages, dog carry cages, fold down crates, etc
assortment of different sized rugs for tinies up to full sizes
assortment of teats and bottles
stomach tube feeder
scalpel handle and blade, surgical scissors, clamps
hedge cutters, sharp knives, snap lock bag and camera for autopsies
wheat bran, molasses, lucerne chaff to make warm bran mash and lucerne tea for sick and/or weak goats
oil - vegetable or mineral or both
bicarb soda
gauze
tea bags
activated charcoal
drenching syringe - possibly the most brilliant thing I have ever bought! lol

I might think of more in the morning but that will get you started
