Medicated chick feed and egg layer chicken feed?

On the packaging it says "Use as sole source of Amprolium" That is the only spot that I can find anywhere on the tag what kind of medication is in it.

There is only one feed store around that sells game bird feed and it is $20 for a 50lb bag for the starter and the grower. I told them I would buy the food but they would have to pay me back.

Both of the feeds,Nutrena brand chick starter and a layer ration would be OK for ducklings. If they are young ducklings the starter would be best, older ducklings might do better on the layer since the starter is a little rich in protein for birds developing wings (may cause angel wing) The layer should be lower in protein but higher in Calcium. Excess Calcium is not a problem since only the body needs are absorbed and the rest extreated. Feed the hot dog rolls and tomatoes as treats if you wish (If not moldy) I suspect the ducklings would be suffering if you haven't taken them in. Try to educate your friend on feeds before you return them. Good Luck!

Goosedragon thank you. I am guessing one duck is about 3-4 weeks old and the other is about 2 weeks old. Are they still young enough to be eating chick starter?

IMO yes, read the label on the chick starter. I usually keep them on starter until the wings start to develop from little flappers to wings with feathers.

OK, thank you it says to keep chicks on unitl 8 weeks old. Little flappers

my hubby and I were just commenting on there little nubs of wings last night. The older one stands up straight and looks up to the nesting boxes they sleep in then flaps his little flappers like he is saying "up". Then he just walks up the latter.

Well first their body grows like a weed then the body slows and everything goes to the wings and they grow like mad, then they slow down to good steady growth.

I was wondering that, I have never really seen ducks this little up close to realise how small there wings are. It really it cute to see them flapping them.
