My wife just called me and said that we were out of food so she gave them the medicated chick starter. I kind of flipped out a little and told her she needed to go back and pull that from them. If they have to go the morning w/o food then so be it, but it seems to me I read that this is really bad for the birds.

Will it do the adult birds any harm? What about the eggs?

Look at your chick starter bag- usually the medication is amprolium, which is just a Thiamine blocker- this won't hurt the birds or you.

It's a coccidiostat, rather than an antibiotic or 'treatment' medicine. Some types of starter also have a very low level of antibiotic, which is still not reported to be a problem short-term, but you wouldn't want to remain on for a long time.
