I have my chicks (3 weeks old) on medicated chick starter. I have 3 chicks and live in town with no other chickens nearby. When I bought new chick starter I accidentally bought non medicated (What are the odds right? From what I have read it is usually harder to find than the medicated kind). So I haven't opened it yet or anything. So I could take it back. Do you think my chicks will get sick if I don't keep them on the medicated kind? Also is it going to be hard on their systems to change foods? Can I just change over suddenly or do I need to combine the foods slowly decreasing the old food while increasing the new food to wean them off the meds? (I have to do that when I change cat food and it doesn't even have medication in it)
