Medicated crumbles

After they've had their feet on the ground a couple weeks you can switch to an "all flock" grower. If you have laying hens, you can offer them the "all flock" and serve oyster shell / calcium supplement in a dish on the side. Birds that need it will gobble it down, those that don't will avoid it. Too much calcium in a bird that is not actively laying can cause organ failure and other health issues. You don't want to keep them on the medicated feed too long as there's medicine in it that blocks the absorption of Vitamin A, that's specifically how it works.

Put them on grower feed, then layer at 18 weeks. Whatever you do make sure it's a slow transition -- mix what you have now with the new feed, adding more each day until you are fully feeding the new feed. This helps prevent disruptions in the digestive system.
