I have a new flock I would call them teenagers now about 2-3 months old plus two peahens an a peacock. Would anyone recommend Piperazine foe worming? Or do nothing?

I have never wormed a single bird, be it chicken, duck or turkey. It all depends on you husbandry practices.

Welcome! New birds in a clean environment should be fine. Probably. However, peafowl and turkeys can get very ill and die from a parasite carried by gapeworms, from earthworms and some other yummy things that the birds will eat. Chickens don't have a big problem with this parasite, but having peafowl with chickens can become an issue. Piprazine doesn't fix it, so don't bother with that product anyway. I'm not giving a good description here, sorry. Look it up! Mary

Welcome to BYC!

Piperazine only kills round worms.

Best to get a fecal float done by a lab that can report species and counts of any worms present, then you can decide if and how to treat. You may decide to do routine worming, it can depend on your area and other things...but treating without a specified need can be a waste of time and money, not to mention possibly creating resistance which could cause problems down the road.

You might also want to post in the peafowl forum for specific info on them.

What they said. Dont treat unless you have a very specific need to treat. I've never needed to treat. Keeping a deep litter in coop and run goes a very long way towards reducing issues associated with parasites of all kinds.
