We live way out in the country and sadly people have a habit of dumping unwanted pets out here ... Usually dogs. Last week when I got home from work around dusk I heard "mew mew mew" when I got out of my car. I started calling for kitty and he started to run away. I knelt down and called to him and he slowly came to me and finally let me pick him up. He was scared but purring heavily. I quickly went inside and brought out tuna fish and water for him, which he much appreciated. I examined him and he is clean and healthy looking, very soft and very sweet. So we went out next day and got him food bowls and food. He's still here a week later, super happy and loves to sit in my lap and purr purr purr. Got him flea/tick medication yesterday. So it appears we have a kitty now.
This is Jonesy.

Cats get dumped out by us too. They mostly just run scared because of our dogs. Glad you could help your kitty out. :)

He was eating a big bowl of kibbles so he was super happy. He was terrified and starving the night before when I found him. He scarfed down two cans of tuna fish that night and I went and bought him kitty food next morning.

Jonesy looks very much like one of my 3 :) We were adopted by a dumped kitten a couple years ago and he now runs the household. My guy's name is Opie.

You can see him here:

Oh wow.
This warms my heart. People also drop animals off where I live.
So glad you are able to take care of him
