These 6 littles came last week from Meyer Hatchery and are a whopping 9 days old today!
Here's what I ordered (all supposed to be pullets):
2 Dominiques
2 Easter Eggers
2 "assorted" brown layers
They are SO hard to photograph, except of course for the really curious ones... If you have the time and interest, I'd love some confirmation on which is which breed. Meyer's chick ID guide was sort of helpful but seemed incomplete.
I've numbered them in the photos, but here are their names, photo numbers, and my best breed guesses! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a good shot of Ginny (who I'm calling #5). She's a shy girl, and looks very similar to #4 (Luna). I'm guessing she's the other Dominique.
#1 Marshmallow (RIR?)
#2 Hildegard "Hildy" (EE?)
#3 Sunset (Dominique? Barred Rock? Not sure if they'd put a 3rd Dominique in as one of my "assorted." She looks quite similar to #4 (Luna) and #5 (Ginny), but she's bigger and fluffier, especially around her neck. You can see this well in the last photo. Much more white/yellow on her head, too.)
#4 Luna (Dominique? Bright spot on head)
#5 Ginny (other Dominique? same size as Luna with a lighter and more muddled spot on her head)
#6 Glinda the Good Witch (EE? Dark brown coloring with some stripes showing through)
