Meet Nugget and Pie

Those meat birds grow up super fast, it's how they were developed. It's kind of sad that they will never really enjoy living. I think harvest time is 3 to 6 months, going past that makes there meat tough from what I remember.

Yesterday Pie hit 2.2 pounds — the one kilo mark — at approximately 3 weeks old!

Here we are at 3.5 weeks. Pie weighs in at 3 lb 7 oz. I had the unmitigated gall to wash his nasty butt feathers, so he took matters into his own claws.

At 4 weeks with us (which should put his age at 4.5 weeks, as we believe he hatched on the Monday before we got him). Pie weighs in at almost exactly 4 lbs. He's gaining about a pound a week. He is very attracted to my feet for some reason. And he never just casually walks anywhere. It's always this horrible awkward sprint.
