I am the proud mamma or seven chickens. While they sport odd names, givento them by me, they are sweet, beautiful little hens.
I have four golden comets, Nyac (meanig Wind,) Wolf, River and Roan.
A barred plymouth rock named Connwaer.
An Americana named Gylfee,
And a Black Beauty Sex-Link named Tebow.
We got them as two-week old and one-week old chicks, first Nyac and Connwaer, Then River, Wolf, and Roan, and the week-yonger chicks, Tebow and Gylfee.
Nyac and Connwaer as chicks.
Gylfee Chick. (She looked so much like a hawk then!)
Teow as a little one.
Nyac, (I think she might be all Road-Island Red...) And our first four eggs. She was the only known layer a the time. And she was aso the only one who would stay still for a picture...
Now the chickens are laying well and are healthy. Well, except for the pecking order. But all flocks have that. They free-range all day, and lay one egg a day, even our Americana!
