MEGA Brooder

Ok, so I had 20 chicks in this -

And I knew that it was already tight and that they were gonna out grow it quickly, so I asked my dad if we could build a bigger brooder and he said yes. So I went to youth group and came home to this.

I love my daddy.

we ran out of the plastic netting stuff so on the left side is just a window screen until we can get to Lowes to get more. the chicks are loving this, they are jumping around and chasing each other every where, I love it. The demsions are 5'L x 4'W x 18"H

Here is my baby Lola on her favorite place, sitting on the waterer.

Yep, my sisters have been bugging me to get some for over a year. I bought these two at a sale yesterday and gave them to my sisters as early/late B-day presents. So far one of them is named Audre and we are still contemplating the name of the other.

Nice brooder box! And, nice Daddy. That sounds like something my dad would have done for me when I was a kid - I'd mention something like that and then when I got home from school he'd have it done for me.

I miss him every day even though he passed away over 12 years ago...a girl is never too old to appreciate her dad!

The deminsions are 5L x 4W x 18"H. My dad is great, he loves building stuff so usually all I have to do is mention something and he will get it done that day (weekends only). That is how I got the expansion on the coop, the second expansion, the field roost, and the second coop.

it is just tickling to see all of the chicks so happy with their space. I made sure that it is big enough that If i really needed to I can put adults in it if I ever need to quarintine or anything.

That is nice setup Corey. I hope my boys will get as interested in our chickens as you are in yours. I like that design for a simple brooder and it gives me some ideas on replacing the dog kennel.
