I am worried about my girl, Roseanne. She is not acting her usual clucky self today. She is shying away from the rest of the flock and not eating. I did see her drinking water. She looks normal. ???

Is she puffed up? What color is her comb? Has she laid recently?

She is puffed up and her comb is red. I believe she laid yesterday, but it's hard to say if it was her or her sister.

Usually if a hen is puffed up I put her in a crate with food, bedding, water and a heat lamp to try to diagnosis what is wrong. You should probably check her at night for lice/mites around her vent and neck and check her poop condition. Most have around 50/50 chance once they are puffed up.
