Membrane stuck to chick

I have a newly hatched chick that has the membrane/yolk stuck to its head and right wing. I've tried putting some warm water on the wing and loosen everything but its very stuck and I'm afraid to cause too much shock. Can I use mineral oil or something similar to break up the membrane? Would I also be able to use it and very gently work the gunk off of the head because he can't open the one eye.

Any progressive advice would help thank-you!!

Just use warm water, and keep gently removing the membrane as it loosens. Careful, it is easy to tear delicate skin on chicks. Keep the chick warm, and if it is taking a long time return it to the brooder periodically to warm up and rest.
