We will be moving in just over a month and hubby plans on building a nice big enclosed pen for our regular flock (3 Isa, 3 buff, 3 silver lace, 2 mutts and 2 EE roo) and we also have seperate from them 6 silkies 3 (?) mutts 1 ameracuna 1 bantam out of that flock we have 2 silkie roos. what are your thoughts on combining them all? or should we just continue to keep them seperate? the pen will be plenty big, I just figured since it wont be common ground for any of them it may be a good time to put them all together. we will put the silkies coop inside the enclosure so they do have to go into the huge shed/coop. please give me your insights on this. TIA

I don't like combining bantams with standards, especially bantams like silkies because they are pretty defenceless against... well everything. I have succesfully had bantams like cochins, but silkies... It works better if they're raised together from day 1.

I know others have done it though, and not had any problems.
