I am so excited to join this group. I am taking the plunge with a small backyard hen house. As of today, I am the owner of 2 Barred Rocks and 1 RIR! I have had adventures already. While transferring the hens from a box to a coop, one got away from me. My Annatolian Shepherd, Meena, and I stalked her all over the yard, until we cornered her against a fence. (This was a several hour ordeal because the chicken was under our 100 year old house for a while). My dog was so excited when I caught it! She was so good, just herding, but never bit!
