I want a good flock of americuana (EE's are fine with me, not looking for the true aracuana breed) just want colored eggs and a pretty bird! Anyway, there are very few breeders in NH, one great farm but its over a hours drive, and with gas prices, and the price of their birds, its honestly cheaper to get 15 from meyer..I have never ordered from them, and I was hoping maybe someone here has, and can fill me in on a few things. 1. how is the customer service? if I get a box of dead chicks, will they help me out? 2. do they send a mix of colors of the breed or are they all going to look exactly the same? ( the variations of the breed are what i love) and 3, tell me anything I should know! LOL thanks in advance

Hello! I use Meyer for all my chick orders, and I've had EEs from them, and they were beautiful and layed a nice seafoam green egg. They're NOT Ameraucanas, but that's OK, very pretty anyhow. Good customer service.....Nice folks. I don't believe you can go wrong. I was just on their website and they have EE chicks available in the end of April.

Ok, thank you, I have a date of 4/25 from them, very reasonable prices! did all your girls look the same? or were they unique in their coloring?

I ordered EE's (called ameraucana's) from meyer in Sept. I ordered 25 females, got 26, 3 died, 1 was a roo. Customer service was great, I never asked for credit or additional chicks over the 3, but they said if I had any dead ones they would make it good. All chicks were healthy, no foot or beak problems. I got a great variety of colors, all laid very early for EE's started at 4 months, all lay blue, green, blue/green eggs, very close to daily. I even got one triple yolker when they first started laying. Here are a few pics, let me caution you sometimes I get carried away on the pics!

There were three different colors.....One that looked silver-ish, one that was blondish/buff colored and she had a beard, and a brown one. Very very pretty. Now, my good friend had quite a few from Meyer, and they were all the same color. A very pretty reddish brown....Sort of laced looking.

It'll be a really nice surprise for you!

Thanks, my family thinks I may be slightly obsesive I literally have thousands

Bad rep because they're falsely sold as Ameraucanas for one, and two, because hatcheries do it solely for production and profit, thus often causing issues in birds. Meyer Hatchery I trust over others, but some hatcheries in particular often give some pretty deformed or weak Easter Eggers.
