I have, as of this morning, two mice nests on the outside of my coop. My coop is an a frame that is mostly wire with a tarp for rain protection. They are building under the tarp along the side of my nest box door. They havenhaven't gottgotten into any food, they aren't bothering me, and the girls are ok, is there any reason I need to get rid of the mice? I'm a live and let live kind of person, so unless there is a good reason I'd like to just leave them alone. I actually am kind of enjoying watching the progression of the nest building ;-)

. Hmmm, let's see if this works... This picture is from the day before yesterday. It's grown and another has been added since.

I found mouse poops in the nest. Plus, I don't know of anything else that makes a nest like that.

Well, it's a rat. I just saw it when I went out to collect eggs. It didn't occur to me because I've never seen a wild rat out here before.
