Hello Chickychook22! I'm from Michigan too. Where in the mitten are you? Actually, you can add your location to your profile; it doesn't have to be exact, just the town, or general location.

When it comes to chickens keeping, climate matters a lot! What works for someone in Florida might not help at all for us in Michigan. When people ask questions, it really helps to know what state they're in, or if they're in another country.

Speaking of questions... don't be shy about asking anything. Nobody was born knowing this stuff. The pool of knowledge on BYC is wide and deep.

I'm in Brighton (about 25 min from Ann Arbor).

Thanks for letting me know about the Michigander thread!! I'll be sure to add my location to my profile as well. :)

I've already learned so much reading through some of these threads - really thankful I happened upon this place on the internet.
