Here is a picture of little MicroDuck and one of my normal sized call drakes. If you have ever seen a Mandarin female, Micro is about the same size as that. Right now, we are dealing with an eye infection in both of Micro's eyes. But just after the first dose of ointment, they look better today. He does NOT like to be held....the booger.

Aw - what a cutie! I LOVE that short little bill! I'm so glad he's still thriving!

I'll have to post a picture of my little micro Mallard, Lullaby - do you remember him? He and MicroDuck were itty-bitty, way-too-tiny ducklings around the same time last year. He's all grown up now too, and there's still a considerable size difference between him and his brother - in fact, he never grew to be much bigger than a normal Call duck (well, you know - a skinny, streamlined, Mallard-esqe Call Duck).

The thing is though, he and his brother are molting into eclipse right now, and they look dreadful.

Microduck is just too cute. I have my own little Runner duck. She hatched disabled so has become an inside duck. She is about 16 weeks old now and less than half normal size. She still even has her baby fuzz. So cute but I do wonder what the future holds for such a little girl. She has a slipped tendon in one lg so can only get around be hopping- but is a very happy little one who loves her swim every day and loves to be cuddled.

Has Micro shown any interest in the lady ducks??? It would be interesting to see what size any ofspring may be.

He has not shown interest lately. I have only seen him try one time and he is just too small. Things don't line up properly....ya know what I mean? The other male ducks I have fight with each other but no one ever bothers Micro. Maybe he is sterile and they can sense that.

To all the others out there with "Micro" ducks, just keep on pampering these little guys. I think they are special and although my little Micro is still around, I do find him fragile. I just thank God for every day he is here with me and I love him dearly.....
