I have their wings on one side clipped but they are good at getting out about as good as the Bourbons am I dreaming that during the day they will stay in a 5ft fence? I've just moved them to their new digs so I will not be letting them out for a week. The new house is a dog pen covered and I've put up hot wire on the outside for my foxes before they were in a horse stall and they used the waterer to hop up on to get to the top of the 11 ft high stall and they just couldn't get back in by themselves...they would go right back in when I opened the door. It's the early mornings that make them explorers and where they are now I have to let them out..

They are great escape artists but, if the wings are clipped properly, a five foot fence will hold them. I keep my breeders in 5' horse fencing and they never get out unless I let them out.

Thanks for your encouragement I've been looking around for places they could do the hop then hop over but it's a big place full of weeds and brush piles for them to play on they are very tame just didn't want them being dinner for anybody else but me......I will not let them out if I'm not home anyways...We are planning a turkey castle within the area they are now just collecting building materials for a very safe place when we are done. We also have hawks and owls so I had to wait for these to get big they are almost 4 months old

I had an owl get one of my best MW hens(just ate the head). I know it was an owl because it came back and did the same thing to one of my chickens only this time I saw it because the chickens were making such a racket. Now everything sleeps in an inclosed coop surrounded by horse fence.

Yep what we do for our fowl
