I have been ask to raise midget whites by a few people now. I do not know much about them. I currently raise and hatch out standard bronze, chocolates, and ducks. How hard are midgets to raise and hatch out? How long does it take to grow 1 out and ready for the table?
Thanks Matt

They will take just as long as the Chocolates you are raising.
They aren't any harder or easier to hatch or raise than any other turkey.

Your big problem will be finding Midget Whites and not Beltsville being passed off as MW's. They are not the same bird.

I raise MW's and they are my favorite, they are the smallest turkey's I raise and have Big Dog sydrome, with the other toms.

But they are all really sweet and free range together 6 to 8 months out of the year with no problems.

thanks for the info. I was hopeing by some chance, since they were smaller they hit full size quicker then the others. how much smaller are they then the beltsville white's. This way I know what to look for? I have realized that a turkey poult is the lowest on the poll of inteligence. I now put the smallest duckling in with the day old. that 1 duckling teaches them to eat and drink.

There is not too much difference in size.

Beltsville's...tom 23 pounds, hens 12 pounds

Midget Whites....tom 20 pounds, hen 12 pounds

I try to put keets in with mine.
