Might be getting Peafowl Hatching Eggs - Questions

Hi, one of my aunts called me and told me she knew someone that sold Peafowl eggs, and she wanted to know if I wanted any to hatch out..me being me of course said YES!!!

I maybe getting a few GQF incubators and hatchers this weekend, so I should have room for them.

I'm a newbie and have never even considered owning Peafowl until now, so please fill me in. Mostly I want to know how to incubate them, what 'temp, how many days etc. Thank You

Something i learn with the GQF place eggs on their side use the auto turner ,but also turn the eggs 3 times aday....if not you will find alot dye right b4 hatching, the other thing alot of us paefowl breeders did was place eggs under broody hen for the first week, if no broody hen just the incubator..the hen just help about 5% better hatch.

But I too have questions

Does it mean only turn 3 times only..and do u stop turning 3 days before just as u do with chickens?

Or does the 3 times a day..mean no more then 3 times a day

use the auto turner plus another 3 times, peafowl turning more per day helps, yes stop turning on day 25

What do they eat, same as chickens? Can they be kept with chickens/guineas? The GQF incubators that I'm getting are set-up for Emu eggs so maybe they're more suited for PF eggs? Can I turn the eggs ever 15 minutes or so? I could probably do that since I'm at home most of the time. How noisy are they? Can they be free ranged? Do they lay eggs every day, or are they seasonly layers like guineas? Is there anything special that I need to do for the peachicks? Can they be tamed easily, or are they naturally wild? Are they hard to catch, are they good flyers? What kind of coop would they need if they can't be housed with my other poultry?

Freeranging peafowl is an art form..lol, some would never dare try it, some no problems, some have never seen their peafowl since the day they tried it..super strong fliers

Game feed, turkey feed with cat food..


Can be real noisy during breeding season, play some YouTube videos that's what I did

I think I have the basic idea on how to raise'em.
