It's been almost a year since one of my ducks, Mildred, went through our first and rather nasty episdoe of Bumblefoot. Defnitely a learning experience for the not-quite-one-year-in duck owner!
I received a message from Marty1876 this morning checking on her status, which was funny because I had just been thinking last night that I should post a "things I am thankful for message" on BYC.
For all the wonderful people that helped with Mildred's plight last Jan-April. A heart felt thank you this thanksgiving! (and every day!)
Mildred is doing wonderfully. Bossing everyone around, squawking and the human for being late with grub (even if the human is early), chattering at me when I pick her up (but picking her up is quite a trial still -- "what are you going to do to me this time?"). She had a couple of slight bumbles after the poltice treatment last spring, but nothing since. She's doing just great.
There is, indeed, life after bumblefoot - we had lots of help and got lucky!
Thanks to all for your help. She's definitely got a soft spot in my heart!
