Browniebird
In the Brooder
I've seen a few threads on using milk crates for nesting boxes, but most of those are regarding "average" size birds. I'm currently in a position where I had to give up my flock, and I can't have more birds for a minimum of 3 years, more likely to be 4.
My old flock was all Jersey giants and Delawares. My old nesting boxes were wooden apple crates.
I recently came into a lot of milk crates (about 30) which are useful for me right now as storage while I go through this rough season, but when I can have birds again.....
I know the Delawares could use milk crates as nesting boxes, but there is a tickle in my brain that says Jerseys couldn't.
What does the hive mind say? I want to set myself up for success when I can have birds again.
Thank you!
