Lighter 1 looks like a blue partridge. Darker is reg 4 sure

Due to the nature of the blue gene, one would not expect all to be blue (partridge). Do any of the parents show leakage--even a little bit? My guess would be that that is who they are coming from, and that those birds carry a copy of the pattern gene and a lot of melanizers, but in a het. state.

I'm guessing that somewhere back in the lineage the ggggggrandparents were used for blue partridge and a splash came from a blue part and blue part breeding which was later bred back into bbs and has been hidden all these generations.

No leakage I can see... The light colored one with partridge stripes is feathering a buff color.

There doesn't have to be leakage, the parent could both be carrying the gene with a dominant one to hide it.
