I need some ideas to get my d'uccles to lay. They started laying in October and then quit. I have gotten 4 eggs from them since. I have taken one of the roosters out because he was aggressive, but there are still 2 with the 5 hens. I just don't understand these guys. They eat well, have treats, get to free range twice a week. I think they are just spoiled birds. Any ideas how to get them to lay? They are a year old now.

Updated to say they aren't molting, have been wormed and no lice/mites.

My Bantams won't lay either. 15 pullets/hens, 4 of them are MF d'Uccles...the rest are OEGBs, some mixes and a Jap. I am lucky if I get 2 eggs a day, and they usually aren't from the same chickens. I am just as confused. Its been warmer, they have plenty of food, treats and fresh water, I just don't get it. Do they just not lay even semi regularly?

Glad someone else is having troubles too!!! Wish I knew what to do to get them to lay better!!!!

My Duccle are giving me fits too! They laid like crazy through Nov and I have only seen about 8 eggs since then. Gah!

My porcelain are doing the same but upintheholler has had eggs galore from her Porcelain and she is just over the hill from me.

I am giving mine more greens...cabbage etc to see if that helps.

Hang in there...they have to lay eventually...right? =/

That's weird, they won't lay. Both of my four year old Mille Fluer D'Uccle Bantams are laying about three or four eggs a week. Only my eight year old Porclain hasn't laid yet. She likes the warmer weather.

Try giving them some greens and some vitamins in the water. That may help.
