Hi All
My names Dan , I am a first timer, I been study coops for about a year, I don't know i this is a mid life crisis or what lol but i wanted chickens. I am finally almost done with my coop , my kids play interest, but I think they fear cleaning the coop or other chores
. I am doing the deep litter method. I styled my coop after the palace that I seen on here, it's a good start for a coop and it took an area of dirt my dog tracked in all the time
Some things that threw me for a curve . I figured i could go to farm and tractor or farm and fleet and order chicks , but it seems I am late and they only do it for a certain time. Has any one ever used MYPETCHICKEN.com . I am not sure what type of breeds to start with We are only allowed 4 chickens , no roosters . I am looking for a cold hardy docile breed , that I can introduce to the kids and neighborhood lol
Thanks
dan

from Ohio. So glad you joined. There are plenty of folks here that use My Petchicken. Good cold hardy breeds are the Australorp, Wyandottes, Barred Rock, Speckled Sussex and I sure I'm missing a few.
