I just hatched my very first chick in a Brinsea Mini II. There are 6 eggs left to hatch. It seems like there is very little room for this chick to move around. I was going to leave it overnight but it seems like it’s freaking out and getting stuck between the eggs and the water. Any suggestions?

I know nothing about incubating. Sorry!:(

Is it dried? Some will say to leave it as it will entice the others to hatch. Others will say to remove to the brooder. If it's completely dried, you could remove to the brooder however chicks do better with others. You could set up the brooder with a mirror, feather duster until the others hatch. I'm not experienced with hatching, therefore patience and others will respond shortly ...

Have any of the other eggs pipped? If yes, cover the bator with a towel because dark will calm the hatched chick; it's dark under mama hen, too! Also you don't lose humidity and risk shrink-wrapping the other chicks. If none have pipped externally, you can grab your chick but remember a lone chick is stressed out and may cry a lot. At least in the incubator, s/he can peep to their siblings who are soon to hatch.

another one just hatched! This is so surreal. She’s seemed to calm down a little. The second one isn’t as active. I’ll keep them all in the Bator until they are dry. The brooder is all ready to go!

Thank you everyone for your late night responses and words of encouragement. I’m happy to report we have 5 healthy baby chicks. 2 eggs are still in the bator. One pipped early this morning (maybe 2 am?), but still not a lot of action. I’m worried about it because I hear it chirping but it’s not zipping. It took a good beating from the other chicks after they hatched and I think they might have chipped off some of the shell around the external pip too early. How long should I wait to assist?
